This is a summary of the ideas in Chapter 2 of Brian Tracy’s personal productivity book ‘Eat that Frog’.
1. Decide
Decide exactly what your goals are.
2. Write it down
Write down what your goals are. This gives your goals form. If you don’t write your goals down, they’re just dreams.
3. Deadline
Give your goals a deadline. There is nowhere for your goals to begin or end without a deadline. Giving goals a deadline creates an objective degree of urgency. List the goals you want to complete in a certain time-frame, choose the one that will have the greatest positive impact, and apply the seven steps to it.
4. List
List everything that you need to accomplish your goal. Add new things to your list as you think of them. Keep adding to each list until it is finished.
5. Plan
Structure your list into a plan. Prioritize its items and give it an order. Begin to execute your plan immediately, because any kind of action is better than nothing.
6. Repeat
Do something every day that moves you towards completing your goals. Make it part of your daily routine and never miss a day. Build up momentum and keep moving once you’ve started moving. You will feel better about completing your goals the clearer and more challenging they are.
7. Revise
Think about your goals and revisit them daily. Change them if necessary.
