This is a summary of the ideas in Chapter 1 of Brian Tracy’s personal productivity book ‘Eat that Frog’.
Personal productivity requires that you know exactly what you need to do. Decide exactly what your goals are in each aspect of your life. Once you are certain about what you want to do, don’t deviate from it. Knowing exactly what you need to do makes it easier to accomplish tasks without procrastinating. A lack of motivation leads to procrastination and you cannot be motivated if you don’t know what you need to do.
You need to be sure about the following to be motivated:
- What you are supposed to do;
- In what order you are supposed to do it; and
- Why you are supposed to do it.
Write down your goals before you start working towards them. You will think better on paper.
